Hey Lisa! Yeah, I know — it was a good find. The trickiest thing about thrift shopping for me is always trying to picture the item outside of the thrift store. Seeing it on its own and not surrounded by all the other stuff (um, junk?). In the past, I've walked right by some cool stuff just because I couldn't imagine it in my home. This chair totally caught my eye right away — the blue fabric is so awesome.
This is a place for me to share all the things I love or find interesting. The list is long, but mostly includes — good food, inspiring art, road trips, making things, design in nature, beautiful trinkets and spending time with my husband.
Nickel and Dime is a personal art project where I will attempt to catalogue and record every purchase I make over the course of one year. This will include everything from the frivolous (i.e. a pair of shoes) to the mundane (like shampoo). The original purpose of this project was to help me save money. However, I am starting to see that when I buy something, I am essentially adding to my life. What I choose to bring into my life can have a positive or negative effect on my surroundings and wallet. When I buy something, I have to own up to it — literally.
